Q2: I am unable to obtain a satellite position fix after a long time. How can I fix this?
Q3: My navigation software tells me that my receiver cannot lock onto satellites. How can I fix this?
Q4: My navigation software cannot find my GPS receiver. How can I fix this?

A: The following steps may be able to solve the above problems:
1. Remove the batteries from your GPS receiver and replace them with fully charged ones.

2. Make sure your receiver is in the trusted Bluetooth devices list in Windows.

3.Ensure that the baud rate is set to 4800 bds and the COM port settings are correct (COM port settings are system dependent-your computer/PDA/smart phone will automatically configure this for you and tell you which COM port to use).

4. Make sure that your Bluetooth receiver has been correctly paired with your computer/PDA/smart phone. You should pair the device called "polstar"where possible; or "other Bluetooth Devices" in certain navigation programs. Please refer to your instruction manual for more information, which can also be found from our tech support website at http://www.polstargps.com/tech.htm.

5.Switch on your receiver and leave it in an open space where it has a clear view of the sky. Leave it stationary for approximately 10~15 minutes. The Red LED should be activated, indicating that the position has been fixed.

6.Delete the pairing between your GPS receiver and your computer/PDA/smart phone. You should free the occupied ports first before deleting your GPS pairing.

7. Update your navigation software/drivers to the latest version available.

8. Ensure that you are operating your GPS device in the recommended operating conditions, such as temperature and the humidity of the surroundings.

9. If your RoadMentor is unable to obtain a satellite fix, you may need an external antenna, particularly for vehicles with solar shields or other reflective surfaces mounted on the windscreen/windows.
